Although things did not work out between Leah Messer-Calvert and Corey Simms, the two have always been good at co-parenting. However, some have questioned just how involved Corey Simms actually is in the life of his twins. The girls, Ali and Aleeah, are often seen in pictures with their grandfather, Jeff Simms, leading some to believe Corey isn’t always around. Luckily, Corey Simms addressed these outlandish rumors on October 21 and set the record straight.
After an article published suggested that Corey’s lack of tweeting meant he didn’t play an active role in his daughters’ lives, he responded by saying, “Just because I'm not big into social media DOES NOT mean that I don't have the girls with me. Some are into social media and some do not.”
While it is true that Jeff Simms does post a lot of photos of himself with the twins, he always posts a lot of photos of the girls with Corey Simms. Unlike Corey, Jeff Simms enjoys social media and interacts with fans who like to keep up with Ali and Aleeah. Both have had Twitter for quite some time, but looking at their number of tweets shows who is more active on the social media site. Jeff has over 4,500 tweets, while Corey only has a little over 1,100. Corey’s wife, Miranda, doesn’t appear to be too into the social networking scene either. Despite that, once in a while she will post about her marriage or about the girls.
It is a shame that there are people who will suggest a father doesn’t spend time with his children just because he doesn’t tweet about it. Perhaps they never stopped to think that, rather than tweet about spending time with his twins, he is actually doing the right thing and interacting with them.
There are plenty of parents from “16 and Pregnant” and “Teen Mom” who tweet about their kids and the time they spend with them, but it actually seems like they don’t spend any time with them at all. For instance, any time Jenelle Evans is with her son, she insists on tweeting a sleuth of photos just to prove she is with him. Not every parent is that insecure, though, and it seems that Corey Simms is doing a fantastic job raising his girls.
