Devastating new findings about the Nov. 30 death of Paul Walker continue to emerge more than a month after his passing. According to the final report from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, the Porsche in which the Fast & Furious star was a passenger was going 100-plus miles per hour when it crashed in Santa Clarita, killing both Walker and pal Roger Rodas.
The report, released Friday, Jan. 3, stated that the actor was found in a "pugilistic" stance, meaning he braced for impact before the accident. Previous findings indicated that he died of a combination of traumatic and thermal injuries.
Walker, 40 at the time of his death, was laid to rest last month at Forest Lawn Cemetery in L.A. Around 50 of the star's loved ones gathered to pay their respects during the 40-minute service.
"It was a really sad day for so many people, and you could tell they just weren't ready to say goodbye," an eyewitness told Us Weekly of the somber affair. "His parents were there, along with his brothers and some other family members. Everyone was hugging each other tight and didn't want to let go."
Walker's untimely death has indeed hit hard for those closest to him. On Thursday, Jan. 2, his Fast & Furious costar Vin Diesel shared a photo of the two on Facebook, noting the "complexities of Brotherhood, and the painful void...of its absence."
